The hotel is situated a minute's walk from the Alameda de Hercules in the old quarter of Seville, close to the Andalusian Parliament. The commercial centre of the city is 15 minutes' walk and the historic part is 20 to 25 minutes' walk. The surrounding area is residential and the hotel is tucked away on a small cobbled street. There are some local cafes and tapas bars near the hotel, popular with the residents of the area and they represent good value for money. San Gil Hotel
The San Gil Hotel is a typical building from 1901, restored as a hotel in 1992 and completely renovated in 2000. It is designed by architect Jose Espiau, and was listed as one of the hundred best buildings in Seville. The hotel is divided into two parts: the Andalusian one and the contemporary one, which are separated by a interior garden, with small fountains, palm trees and mosaics from the beginning of the 20th century. In the new part of the hotel, on the 4th floor, you will find the swimming pool and the solarium, which are open during the summer season (June-September). The exterior of the hotel is that of a traditional Sevillian building with white and yellow coloured walls and small rail balconies. The lobby area is quite impressive, spacious and colorful, as the walls are adorned with Andalusian mosaics and the space is decorated tastefully with antique furniture. On the left side of the reception desk is the Breakfast Room and on the right hand side is the connecting door to the new wing of the hotel
